2023 Meeting of the American Oystercatcher Working Group
The 2023 American Oystercatcher Working Group meeting was held November 7-9! This year, the in-person meeting was in Plymouth, MA at the Wildlands Trust’s Davis-Douglas Farm. Thank you to our wonderful host organization and Shiloh Schulte for local organizing! We heard from Lyra Brennan about Mass Audubon’s habitat enhancement at Norton Point for the plenary talk; dove into updates from more than 20 site managers, students, and researchers around the Working Group, including the good news that last winter’s census found the oystercatcher population has continued to increase; and discussed the need for continuing management and habitat work to maintain and continue these gains around the range.
